In celebration of the holiday season and our favorite things, Jenna and I have compiled some fun food items that are must haves!

Christmas is my favorite holiday; I love everything about the winter season from the snow falls to the delicious food. This photo is actually of me and my husband after we put our Alstede Farms (http://alstedefarms.com/) tree in our living room. I am doing holiday shopping for mostly people that LOVE food and cooking so here is what I came up for gift ideas….

I am a huge fan of the Food Network’s Cutting Board with iPad Stand, $69.95. My husband does a lot of the cooking at home; I am still learning, so this is super helpful for recipe reading on my iPad. It keeps your iPad secure with this cutting board. It’s an awesome size for chopping just about anything and doesn’t dull your knives which is a huge PLUS for me. Only 5 left in stock, so hurry up and purchase: http://www.foodnetworkstore.com/chef-sleeve-cutting-board-with-ipad-stand-by-epicurean/shop/598370/?CCAID=FNPTONPR1EDRL.

Country Revival pan is bad ass! This pan is based on an original design from Le Creuset's oldies; the Heritage collection wood-handled sauté pan has tons of country French charm. Le Creuset Heritage Cast Iron Fry Pan is perfect in red and costs $99.95. Would check out your local Sur La Table or William Sonoma (http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/le-creuset-heritage-cast-iron-fry-pan/).

Jenna's Ohana Christmas!

My mother is from Hawaii, and growing up in San Francisco I would visit family there at least once a year. (See photo - I'm on the far left... Aloha!) Now that I live in New York, it's not as easy as hopping on a five hour plane to paradise. It may sounds silly, but when I get lonely for the islands, I like to sprinkle a little Hawaiian sea salt onto whatever I'm cooking (or not cooking - this is delicious and beautiful sprinkled on dark chocolate). It's a simple ritual that helps me slow down in a busy city, and it doesn't hurt that this salt is believed to have detoxifying and healing powers - who couldn't use a little detox boost this time of year? Starting at $5.50 from The Meadow http://www.atthemeadow.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_126&products_id=8

I love making edible gifts around the holidays - I can often be found stirring or waiting for the oven timer at 2am with holiday music on (I wait all year to blast Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas is You" - there, I said it!) - but sometimes you find yourself getting ready for a party and there's just no time for homemade charm or pride. Sure, you could stop at a wine store and buy something you think they may like, but why would you do that when you can just as easily give the gift of warm cookies made with natural, unrefined ingredients? It's just as fast and it's more original -- plus your lucky host(ess) will be singing your praises when these inevitably come to the rescue during the busy holiday season.
Just pick up a box of Sweet Loren's cookie dough or (Double Dark Fudge!) brownie batter in the frozen section (frozen means no preservatives!), and make sure they stay frozen if they don't get baked when you get to your destination (which - really? What are you waiting for?). With classic flavors like Heavenly Chocolate Chip and Nutty Peanut Butter Oatmeal to the festive Chewy Oatmeal Cranberry, you really can't go wrong. They also sell through Fresh Direct, in case you want to buy...a case. Or two. Better make it two. $7.99 for a box of 12 break-n-bake cookies. http://sweetlorens.com
