SantaCon 2013!

It’s that time of year again to get ready for SantaCon NYC! This year’s event will be Saturday December 14th beginning at 10AM. SantaCon is the “Charitable, non-commercial, non-political, nonsensical Santa Claus convention that happens once a year.” Get together with hundreds of other people dressed up in full Santa costumes for an awesome day of bar-crawling. 

All it takes to join in the SantaCon fun is a $10 donation here: http://nycsantacon.com/charity and sign up. The proceeds go to New York Food Bank, FIGMENT Arts Festival, World Hoop Day and other local neighborhood charities along the day’s route. As usual the starting location won’t be revealed until the night before, so make sure to follow SantaCon on Twitter (@SantaCon) for up to date information and announcements of where you can find the start of the famous Santa bar crawl. You can also text @SantaCon to 40404 to get updates sent directly to your phone.

For the cocktail lovers this year we suggest the absolutely delicious Christmas Cookie cocktail. A mixture of Kahlua, Bailey’s and peppermint schnapps and you’ll think you’ve got Mom’s Christmas cookies in a glass. Looking for a shot that keeps up your festive theme? The Santa Shot is perfect! Layers of peppermint schnapps, grenadine and green creme de menthe work magic together. And for the beer lovers out there, we love Sam Adams White Christmas. If there was ever a beer that Santa would crack open after a long day of work in the North Pole, this would be it.

Christmas Cookie Cocktail:

1oz Kahlua

1oz peppermint schnapps

1oz Bailey's Irish Creme

In a shaker with ice, mix equal parts Kahlua, peppermint schnapps, and Bailey's Irish creme.

Santa Shot:

3/4 oz grenadine
3/4 oz green crème de menthe
3/4 oz peppermint schnapps

Pour the grenadine in a shot glass, float green crème de menthe on top, float peppermint schnapps on top.
