Philippe by Philippe Chow

Philippe by Philippe Chow, New York City’s most distinguished Chinese dining establishment, exclusively catered the first night of MAXIM Magazine’s annual celebration of professional football’s biggest weekend hosted by world renowned DJ Dirty South. VIP guests enjoyed a curated menu personally created by Chef Philippe Chow, with dishes like his world famous Chicken Satay, Vegetable Dumplings and Shrimp Satay, as they sipped on cocktails and danced to the musical stylings of DJ Dirty South. We had a chance to catch up with the Chef and chat about the exciting event....

  • Tell us about exclusively catering the "Big Game Weekend?
Catering for this year’s Maxim parties was an amazing experience. We had some of the busiest nights ever at Philippe, but were still able to prep and feed 1,000 additional patrons at the Big Game Weekend each night. It was an incredible opportunity to familiarize a whole new crowd of potential diners to the amazing cuisine Chef Philippe Chow serves, while also allowing us to serve some of our best celebrity friends who were in attendance. We’re currently in the final stages of launching Catering by Philippe so it was also the perfect environment to introduce people to our catering capabilities on a larger scale.

What were some of the menu items?Chef Philippe Chow prepared three of the restaurant’s most popular dishes - Chicken Satay, Shrimp Satay, and Vegetable Spring Rolls. All of these are perfect for sharing and easy to pass around for small bites on the go in an event atmosphere such as Maxim’s Big Game Weekend.

What was your favorite dish of the night?
Philippe’s Chicken Satay is definitely the crowd favorite and most-ordered dish at the restaurant and we could barely keep them on the platters for more than a few moments after the servers left the kitchen with them. We put together a few special platters for our celebrity attendees to enjoy at their tables as well, so that they didn’t have to wait to be served.

What is your favorite easy-to-make / go-to recipe for Super Bowl leftovers?
Chicken is perfect for leftovers. You can easily chop up any leftover chicken satays, Beijing chicken, chicken wings, etc. and make a whole new platter of food or add it to a salad.
