Chichibu Strength Japanese Whisky for Valentine's Day

Some exciting news on this lovely Valentine’s Day...

The Lower East Side’s newest Whiskey Bar Leave ROCHELLE Out of It has just received two bottles of the hard to find Chichibu—the first cask strength Japanese whisky! An extremely rare bottle of liquor, only 2,000 bottles has been produced and just 500 sent to NYC. Since opening in November 2013, Rochelle’s has worked hard to stay at the forefront of the whiskey industry and to provide its customers with the best whiskey New York has to offer, so it just makes sense that the hottest new whiskey joint will offer this extremely rare spirit to its patrons.

Starting tonight (2/14/2014), Rochelle’s will be selling Chichibu for $42 a glass while supplies last. Chichibu The First is the first official release of whisky from the Chichibu Distillery.

The whisky was made by marrying together eight casks of maturing whisky, seven of which were crafted from American oak and previously used to mature bourbon and one crafted from Japanese Mizunara oak. Following a three-year maturation period, the whisky was bottled at cask strength. Chichibu The First Japanese Single Malt Whisky has an aroma of sandalwood, herbs and citrus, which gives way to notes of barley, woody spices and whipped cream on the palate. The finish is elegant and smooth, with touches of citrus, vanilla, caramel and plum.

Go and enjoy!
